ANIMALS being cared for at Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital are in need of some good reading material this winter which will also keep them warm in their cages.
The hospital, based in Cow Lane, Sidlesham, gets through stacks of newspapers as the cages are cleaned out twice a day.

Staff from the hospital, Darren Ashcroft, Emma Pink, and their two-year-old daughter Phoebe, stopped by at the Observer office in Eastgate to stock up on some of our old newspapers.

Miss Pink said: "We are going to get an influx of hedgehogs soon. It just keeps them clean and warm – the cages get in such a disgusting state.

"If anyone wants to make a donation of some newspapers we would be more than happy to take them off your hands."

The hospital, which relies soley on donations to keep running, helps rehabilitate injured wildlife every year.
