From an apple peeling contest to drinking apple juice – it was an apple-themed day at Chichester High School for Boys in celebration of a newly-planted orchard at the school.
Students in Year Seven were given nine apple trees to plant in the school garden as part of a wildlife improvement grant from the district council for a community orchard.
More than 70 people gathered to witness the trees being blessed in a special ceremony by Father Stuart Cradduck, vicar of St George's, Whyke, and the mayor, Councillor David Siggs.
Teacher Fiona Mosley who organised the event, said: "Our aim is ultimately to open the garden up once it is fully renovated to other schools and groups for their use."
To visit the orchard, you will find it alongside the southern boundary of the school field, next to the bypass and the Planetarium.
