A free park and ride service for visitors, shoppers and commuters will operate again in Chichester on the five Saturdays leading up to Christmas – starting on Saturday.
The service will also run every day during the weekdays immediately before Christmas.

The bus shuttle will start from Chichester College car park at Westgate and run to the city centre.

Drop-off and pick-up points will be at Eastgate (opposite
the Cattle Market car park) and at the cathedral in West Street, before the bus returns to the college car park.

The service will operate every 15 minutes between 8am and 6pm on Saturdays November 22 and 29 and December 6, 13 and 20.

It will also run on Monday and Tuesday, December 22 and 23, and on Christmas Eve.

Like last year, the initiative is being organised and funded by Chichester District Council and supported by Chichester Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chichester College and the Chichester Observer.

The bus service is being provided by Emsworth and District Motor Services Ltd.

"The scheme ran successfully last year and it is hoped that it will make travelling into Chichester for Christmas shopping an easier experience for those who want to take advantage of easy access to the city centre, while also helping to reduce possible traffic problems," said a district council spokesman.
