A CUTTING-edge environmental project by groups of offenders near Chichester has scooped a prestigious award.
Each month up to 50 offenders serving community sentences get stuck into work including coppicing, planting hedgerows, clearing paths, installing bird and hedgehog boxes, redecorating the visitor centre and building benches at Goodwood Estate.

Now the scheme, by Sussex Probation Area, has been recognised by the Howard League for Penal Reform, and is one of just ten to receive a coveted Penal Reform Award this year.
