A SHORT list of developers in the running to overhaul the Roussillon Barracks site in Chichester has been drawn up.
The site, owned by national regeneration agency English Partnerships, has been earmarked as a new housing community in the north of the city.
The density of residential development at the site will be between 40 and 70 units per hectare, and may i
nclude a residential care home or retirement living.
English Partnerships' southern region director David Edwards said: "We wished to create the opportunity for more than one developer to become a partner on selected sites such as this.
"Before proceeding we will be establishing the value for money proposition and carefully assessing the financial offers and status.
"Each has taken on board our overall development goals and demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and community engagement."
Final bids for the project will be received in November.
