Primary schools in Hastings are being invited to take part in a painting competition by local MP Michael Foster.
Mr Foster is encouraging schools across Hastings and 1066 Country to enter the competition which is being held as part of the European Union Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

Each local school will be asked to submit their nominations by Friday October 12. A local winner will then be chosen and this painting will then go forward to a celebrity panel of judges - including Dame Kelly Holmes.

The winners of the competition will be invited to a presentation ceremony in London and their painting will be re-printed in an international booklet.

Mr Foster said: "This is our chance to encourage the artistic side of our youngsters while also emphasising the importance of learning about the cultures of our European neighbours."
