A police investigation is underway into an alleged sexual assault on a teenage girl in Nelson Road on Wednesday night.
The 16-year-old victim was riding a bicycle when the stranger began talking to her at a phone box near Morrisons petrol station.

It is alleged he followed her and struck while she was in Nelson Road at 10pm.

Police cordoned off an area along the road on Friday morning to carry out a forensic examination.

They are not linking the reported assault to a similar incident in Oxford Road, Hollington, last week.

Any witnesses should contact Detective Sergeant Anita Turner on 0845 607 0999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
