Revived May Day celebrations at Sedlescombe a success

The ancient tradition of dancing round the may pole made a welcome return to Sedlescombe at the weekend.
Sixteen pupils from the village primary school took a coloured ribbon and danced around the pole as part of Sedlescombe's May Day festivities.
As the sun beat down, young and old alike enjoyed the attractions, including games for the children, a bouncy castle and a craft fair.
The May flower princess was also in attendence.
The newly-revived event took place in the grounds of the Queens Head and organisers hope to repeat the success of the event next year.
The May Day festivities were organised by Sedlescombe Pavillion Fund, which would like to thank the Queens Head and everyone who helped make the day a success.
A grand total of £600 was raised for the fund.
