A son who stole £100 from his mum to pay for booze was fined by magistrates.
Luke Burns, 22, appeared at Hastings Magistrates Court last week and pleaded guilty to theft.

Alison May, prosecuting, told the court: "He had been arguing with his girlfriend so went to see his mum. He then had an argument with her and took her debit card.

"He already knew the pin number and gave the card to his friend and asked him to take out £100.

"This was then spent on booze and fags."

Defending himself, Burns said: "I paid the money back to her three days later.

"I have been staying with my sister because my mum told me to leave.

"I feel bad about stealing from my mum and it will never happen again."
Burns, of Farley Bank, was fined £100, ordered to pay costs of £60 and a victim surcharge of £15.
