The epicentre of local politics is being transformed into a live music venue next week as teenagers take over the town hall.
Young people aged between 13 and 19 from across Hastings and St Leonards will descend on the building on Saturday September 13 to hear bands, wolf down free food, listen to music and find out the latest on facilities for young people in the town.

The Town Hall Takeover takes place between noon and 3pm. Bands already confirmed include: Inseminate, Killing the Senses, Some People and Neon. A host of other acts will also appear on the bill.

The event commences at 12pm with a 10 minute conga line snaking its way round the town centre and back into the town hall.

One of the teenage organisers said: "Throughout the day there will be live music and, free food and drink and lots of other fun things happening as the day progresses.

"This is an informal event so there won't be any boring people giving speeches - pure music and entertainment.

"So if the conga line happens to pass you in town jump on."
