ST Michael's Hospice chiefs are furious it took BT engineers more than two days to fix phone lines after a fault occurred.
Patients were unable to call their families and relatives could not phone the hospice to find out about their loved ones after the lines went down on Saturday.

Hospice managers say people attempting to contact the hospice in St Leonards with a range of enquires, especially those seeking details about its Hospice at Home service, were let down by the delay in fixing the problem until Tuesday morning.

A hospice spokesman said: "As a hospice we should be a priority and we are furious the way BT has dealt with this. Patients could not ring out and family members were worried, so we had a lot of concerned e-mails."
A spokesman for BT said the fault was in the hospice network's phone software.

"We did our best to return the phones to working order as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience," he said.
