Crawley knife man caged
A DRUNK yob was sentenced to eight weeks in prison after threatening a neighbour with a carving knife.
Aaron Burton, 21, of Rawlinson Road, Maidenbower was heard shouting 'let me in or I will stab you' in his block of flats on June 27.
Crawley Magistrates' Court heard on Friday afternoon how officers had seen the knife in the right hand pocket of Burton's tracksuit bottoms.
Prosecutor Andrew Newman told the court how the officers had ordered Burton to drop the knife.
He then slid the knife towards a door while officers struggled to cuff him.
In sentencing him magistrate Michel Olszewski described the crime as 'extremely serious.'
Burton was sentenced to eight weeks in prison for possession of a bladed article and three weeks for resisting arrest.
His sentence will run at the same time.
He is expected to serve half of his sentence.
