A CRAWLEY woman escaped uninjured in a horror smash that left a man in his 80s man dead.
The pensioner's silver Clio was heading towards East Grinstead on Turner's Hill Road at around 1.20pm on Wednesday when it lost control and left the road, colliding with a tree.

The vehicle then rejoined the carriageway and collided with a black Renault Clio driven by the Crawley woman heading in the opposite direction.

The driver, from East Grinstead, was taken to the New East Surrey Hospital at Redhill where he died from his injuries.

Did you see the smash? Do you know either of the drivers? Email the news desk or call 01293 845058.
