VOLUNTEERS are being asked to help in the annual clean of the beach and river bank at Cuckmere Haven.
Lou Parkinson, countryside ranger, said: 'Marine litter is a huge problem, particularly at this time of year after the surge of the spring tides.

'Along with the usual litter that gets washed up, we have had a lot of wood that came off a sinking ship.

'It not only looks unsightly along the strandline of the beach, it causes damage and death to marine wildlife.'
Volunteers are asked to collect this debris in an attempt to restore the landscape to its natural beauty.

The clean up is on April 15 from 10am to noon. Meet at the Seven Sisters Country Park at 9.45am. Bring gloves, warm clothes and a drink.
