Nostalgia: When Dr Who filmed in Sussex
SEARCHING through the Sussex Newspapers Ltd archives, our Head of Photography Steve Cobb stumbled across these photos of a special episode of Dr Who being filmed in Sussex.
The year was 1988 and the month August when the then Doctor, Sylvester McCoy, along with fellow cast members and crew, filmed the episode Silver Nemesis.
This was season 25 - hence the ‘Silver’ storyline.
Arundel Castle doubled up as Windsor Castle and the town’s streets were used for other shots.
However, our photos were taken when the crew went to St Mary’s House, Bramber. The exterior of the house was used as the home of the villainous Lady Peinforte.
