'Cat' burglar's the culprit

Do you live in the Hempstead Lane area in Uckfield?

Have you been puzzled as to how or why your Leylandi is mysteriously being pruned?

I hold my hands up in apology as our l0-month-old grey and white cat is the culprit.

Bertie has been proudly bringing home varying sizes of Leylandi twigs, some he can't even get through the cat flap, and we assumed it was trimmings.

However, on closer examination, you can see where he has nipped off each carefully selected frond, so if your Leylandi is gradually disappearing, Bertie is the gardener.

Perhaps he could earn his keep by being loaned to people who have problems with neighbours over shadowing Leylandi?

Alternatively, we could stop him watching Gardeners' World as he sits next to us on the sofa!

June Parris,

Uckfield
