Letter: High-handed and patently unfair

I AM dismayed by the apparent high-handedness of the town council in taking over the running of Lewes Cinema.

The town council had clearly been in consultation with Lewes Film Club but had not consulted at all with the people who run Lewes Cinema.

This is patently unfair and an insult to a successful and much appreciated community enterprise.

It is particularly crass in these times when community initiative and the so-called ‘big society’ is the order of the day. I suggest the town council look elsewhere for its investment and savings.

Joyce Bell,

Lewes
