Letters: Superstores don’t attract visitors

THE Railway Quarter artist shows Tesco resembling Tesco. A century of sail, cargoes, wrecks, rail, Paris Hotel, war raids, all air brushed.

How does an out of town superstore draw visitors to Newhaven town, unless it’s the long-range Tesco US effect.

Could enterprising super-grocers set up a Newhaven Maritime Museum, with genuine ships, craft studios, library of the sea, a version of Sainsbury’s Norwich Art Complex with specialist fish restaurants.

Multimillion schemes everywhere look like everywhere else, means that wherever we go we are nowhere.
