Outcome will cause deaths of animals

THE vote was six for, three against to destroy our small nature reserve, in favour of a car park and units on Malling Brooks.

According to Councillor Gardiner and his information, we are no longer in danger of flooding and I will not have to live in a caravan again as I did nine years ago. I wonder how many of these councillors have experienced having their houses flooded to depths of seven feet.

At County Hall it was third time unlucky in our apposal of this hideous application. It was as though the outcome had been decided, regardless of the sensible mitigation put forward.

The outcome of this application, will cause the deaths of many animals, including water voles, slow-worms and grass snakes.

Protected species, but who will protect them, not Councillor Gardiner I think.

P J Urry,

Lewes
