Who's behind the clampers?

I refer to an article in the Express with regard to the unpopular clamping scheme in Lewes, which to my limited knowledge is not limited to the vastly unpopular on-street and anywhere it can, even on the pavement, parking scheme, which ripples out from the town centre.

Without being too picky or technical we all know who is responsible for the parking scheme – the council. But with regard to the clamping scheme, which only seems to operate outside Laura Ashley and outside Eastgate Wharf car park, we are none the wiser as to whom is the biggest snouted pig in the trough.

We do know that Capital to Coast Security are clamping vehicles – because that is what they are being paid to do. Capital to Coast are acting on behalf of Cheval Property Advisors Ltd (the London based management company). But the big question is for whom is Cheval managing the clear access on this so- called private road. I doubt Cheval is acting on behalf of Waitrose who Jaycie Hughes implicates.

Naughty naughty.

So please – could the one with the biggest snout step forward or would you rather stay hidden in the shadow of your sty.

Robert Hammond, Lewes
