When you see a show advertised as A Magical Night at the Musicals you imagine a huge cast of singers and dancers.
But this show devised by Eastbourne Theatres' Artistic Director Chris Jordan and his pantomime's Musical Director Robert Cousins has just five multi-talented artists.
Three girls and two men perform songs from 50 musicals in the space of two hours
. They sing, they dance, they turn cartwheels, they play the trumpet and they even roller skate.
These are the best you can get. Robyn North is currently playing Christine in the West End production of Phantom of the Opera twice a week and will continue to do so in conjunction with this show's major tour.
Pharic Scott has performed in musicals all over the world and understudied and played the role of Rusty in Starlight Express in Germany so it was a joy to see him singing the title song whilst roller skating round the stage.
Barnaby Thompson's rendition of Singing in the Rain, complete with camera, lights, action and rain was a highlight for me.
Sophie Byrne and Alison Dormer also repeated songs they have sung in shows in the West End and on tour and all five have great voices.
Nick Winston's choreography is superb and the GSGD Band under the musical direction of Stephen Ridley added to the enjoyment.
If you miss the show in Eastbourne try and catch it on tour. Check the dates on www.gottasinggottadance.co.uk
