A CHARITY which helps young people in difficulty has reached a landmark point in its work.
The Y Centre said there were no more vulnerable 16 or 17-year-olds in bed and breakfast accommodation in the Horsham area.

It put the success down to teaming up with Horsham District Council and other agencies to help.

Many youngsters are resident at the Y Centre in Horsham's Albion Way, giving them a safe and stable home.

In fact, in September this year five residents took up university places and others have re-entered the education system, found employment or started their own businesses.

Youngsters who stay at the Y Centre have a range of complex problems, such as suffering from the breakdown of relationships at home.

Living at the Y Centre means youngsters have better access to agencies whose job it is to help them.

They area also housed in a safer environment.

A YMCA street collection and open day will take place today (Saturday November 22).

All are welcome at the Y Centre in Albion Way from 10am.

There will be a chance to meet residents, staff and volunteers.
