POPULAR Horsham teenager Ricky Butler smiles in the last photograph taken of him on the night he was killed in a brutal attack outside a Hallowe'en party.

Richard Martin, 19, of Heath Way, Horsham, was jailed for life, at Lewes Crown Court, on Friday August 29, for the murder of the 15-year-old Forest School boy outside a fancy dress party in Gorringes Brook, Horsham, last November.

Ricky's mum and dad Sarah and Tony today paid tribute to their son and spoke of their struggle to get their lives back together after a traumatic trial.

In a moving interview - to be published in full in this week's County Times - Sarah and Tony said they were pleased to have justice for their son.

Tony said: "Richard Martin deserves to go to prison.

"Creeping up on someone who was sitting on a doorstep, and then attacking them with a weapon, is cowardice.

"My family and I will have to live the rest of our lives without our beloved Ricky, a wonderful son, brother, nephew, and friend to many."
