FOLLOWING the success of his 2010 tour comedian Al Murray will be extending his Barrel of Fun show into the spring – seeing him appear at the Theatre Royal Brighton this month.
The pub landlord’s Barrel of Fun extra – classic hits and new bits, will see The Guv once again turn his attention to the current needs of his ‘Beautiful British’ public.
From global warming, the Taliban and a PC-world gone mad – to the true threat to mankind, the subtle nature of human nature, The Guv applies his glass-half-drunk logic to modern day stresses and strife.
He will also champion the causes that have caught his charitable eye like Ginger Rights for the ginger haired, as well as donate some killer chat-up lines for the romantically-challenged.
The pub landlord said: “These extra dates are all about meeting regulars in their locals – there is
nothing finer than raising a glass of the usual amongst friends. Coming to your towns, towns I haven’t been to in years or ever before, all so you don’t have to come to me – it’s Common Sense.”
This extension, which sees The Guv perform across the country, from Kent and Cornwall to the Highlands and Islands, follows hot on the heels of a packed 2010 which saw The Guv write The Pub Landlord’s Great British Pub Quiz Book, the follow-up to his two acclaimed humour books – the Richard and Judy Book Clubwinning
The Pub Landlord’s Book of British Common Sense, the most successful humour book of 2007/8, and 2009’s self-help tome, Think Yourself British by Al Murray, The Pub Landlord. He will release a brand new live stand-up DVD recorded during his non-stop Barrel of Fun autumn tour; and perform a sell-out run of the critically acclaimed Compete for the Meat pub quiz at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival.
Al Murray will be appearing for one night only at the Theatre Royal Brighton on Monday May 30 at 8pm.
