VIDEO: Irish inspired 'James son of James' performance comes to Sussex

Olivier Award nominated Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre is coming to Sussex to stage 'James son of James', at Brighton Dome's Concert Hall on February 12 and 13 at 8pm.

James son of James is the latest creation from Michael Keegan-Dolan, acclaimed as one of Ireland's most talented and original artists in recent years.

Since 1997 he has written, directed, choreographed and co-produced seven productions for Fabulous Best Dance Theatre including The Flowerbed, Giselle and The Bull.

When James returns home late for his father's funeral after 11 years' absence he finds himself embroiled in the private lives of ten characters. From the local politician, hell-bent on election, to the district doctor, psychotic with guilt over his wife's death, all is not well behind the prim provincial facade of middle Ireland.

A story of love betrayal, revenge and accidental heroism, played out in song, dance, theatre, original music and outrageous humour.

This presentation of James son of James is the first ever UK tour for Fabulous Beast, and a co-production with Dance Touring Partnership, Dublin Theatre Festival and barbicanbite08.
