Keen local historian Jon Gunson has compiled this series entitled Friday Knight - knights who fought at the Battle of Lewes - giving each a brief biography.

Not to be confused with Harry Hotspur, who comes later.

The Percies are royalty in the North East: this one’s mother was Eleanor de Balliol, and he married John de Warenne’s daughter (also Eleanor), which gives you some idea where they got the money. Sir Henry fought for his namesake, Henry III, at Lewes: he was taken prisoner, and only released after the Battle of Evesham.
