Happy days in college

JUST like everyone else, Rouser liks to be appreciated. Hence his pleasure at receiving a letter from Donald Wingate which says: ‘I read with interest each week your column on past events and people. I attach a photograph that you may find of interest and wish to publish.

‘It is of the class of 1944 at Lewes Technical College when it was housed in the old school building at the bottom of Mountfield Road.

‘I was aged 16 and had been an apprentice carpenter and joiner for a year. I am seated on the right at the front. I would be very interested if any of your readers are able to identify, or know the whereabouts of, any others in the picture.’
