Lunch and a popular song

Music lovers can enjoy a lunchtime of popular song at the Burgess Hill Methodist Church on Thursday, August 11 at 1pm.

The Lea Graham Quartet – David Farmer, Susan Fleet, Belinda Sharp and Chris Simms - will perform a varied programme including a traditional folk songs, Gilbert & Sullivan and popular songs. Geraldine Rowland, from Henfield, will be the accompanist.

Admission to the concert is free of charge, although there will be a retiring collection for The British Red Cross.

Tea and coffee will be available in the church hall from 12.30pm. Susan Fleet, founder of the Quartet, said: “The concert is being performed in memory of John and Jennifer Fernee, who were well known to the Quartet members. John Fernee was a former music teacher who played an active role in various music societies over many years. His wife Jen was a former head teacher who devoted a great deal of her spare time to the British Red Cross. Our programme will include music to cater for all tastes, and we always inject a little humour into each of our concerts.”
