THE CHALK Garden will be the next play staged at Seaford Little Theatre during February.
This fascinating play is set on the Sussex coastline and revolves around the lives of an autocratic Grandmother, in her youth a high society, young debutant, her daughter and grand daughter.
Other characters include a retired judge who is a great friend of the Grandmother’s and a somewhat highly strung servant.
All this is finely woven together with Enid Bagnold’s beautifully written script.
First produced in New York in 1955 and in London in 1956 it took those two cities by storm and had rave reviews.
The Chalk Garden, directed by Stella Dench, runs from Feburary 11-19 at Seaford Little Theatre in Steyne Road.
Performances begin at 7.45pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm, but no performances on Sunday.
Tickets costing £8 are available from Living Words in Place Lane from January 21.
