Debut visit to Eastbourne
Sense and sensibility
Sense And Sensibility, Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne, until April 28 (sat mat 2.30pm).
MAKING their debut visit to the Devonshire Park Theatre the Rosemary Branch Theatre are bringing their unique visual style to one of Jane Austen’s most famous works, Sense and Sensibility.
Elinor is the epitome of prudence and self-control while Marianne embodies emotion and enthusiasm. Elinor, Marianne, and their younger sister, Margaret, are left in reduced circumstances when their father dies and his estate is passed onto their half-brother, John.
This exciting and inspirational adaptation follows the young ladies to their new home, a meager cottage on a distant relative’s property, and their search for love in a society bound by financial fortune.
Brought to stage with beautiful imagery, original music, humour and heartbreak, Helen Tennison directs this comedy of manners, marriage and much, much gossip.
