Mid Sussex District Council has reached an agreement with the club over rent and work that needs to be done, after talks were held yesterday.
It will also work with the club on longer term projects, including a search for a new ground.
The decision means the club can meet a May 6 deadline to enter the Ryman league next season.
Cllr Anne Jones, one of the ward members for the Leylands area, confirming the news, said: "I think there was a lot of plain speaking and honesty at the meeting, and supporters also made their feelings known before about what was happening.
"I think this is a whole new chapter for the club. The club does good work, but it needs to get its admin right. I think this has been a severe warning to them that everything needs to be done properly, as in any other business."
