Move to ban Chinese lanterns

CHINESE lanterns have been mistaken for distress flares at sea, vilified by farmers and they even sparked a flurry of 'UFO sightings' across Mid Sussex last summer.
Now, a European politician wants the flaming party toys banned.

Sharon Bowles, Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the South East of England says the wire built sky lanterns could cause injury or death to livestock.
