AROUND 300 people gathered to discuss how they would fight plans to build a sewage works in Peacehaven.
Protesters met at the Meridian Centre, Peacehaven, last week and agreed they would lobby councillors making the decision about a treatment works planned for Lower Hoddern Farm.

Southern Water's application to build at the site has been turned down
by two public enquiries but the firm has submitted amended plans which show the site hidden by landscaping and trees.

John Hodgson, of Capel Avenue, has campaigned against all the applications.

He said: 'One of things people felt was "here we go again". We have got to start the process all over again.

'It is a question of getting people together to write to the seven county councillors who will effectively be making the decision.

'We have got no formal date for when the planning application is going to be considered, it could be May it could be June.

'We have taken the precaution of organising another meeting for Wednesday April 23 and we are going to organise coaches and other transport to take people up to County Hall to protest at the meeting and we are going to provide three speakers to speak at the meeting.'

All are welcome to attend April's meeting which will be at 7.30pm in the main hall at the Meridian Centre.
