Police hunt petrol thief
A THIEF has stolen petrol from garages and driven away in cars using a stolen numberplate.
The man has hit a number of garages across the Wealden district.
He often uses a silver Mercedes Coupe but he has been known to use other cars.
The man aged in his 30s or 40s has been seen on CCTV cameras trying to duck out of view while stealing full tanks of petrol from garage forecourts.
Police have released this image of the man they would like to speak to.
The stolen numberplate is HK02 DZV.
The man has also stolen petrol from garages in Kent.
