St Peter & St James Hospice is holding its ‘Lights of Love’ service on Sunday, November 29 with the renowned author, Peter James, as the special guest speaker.
‘Lights of Love’ is a celebration of the lives of loved ones in the heart of the community. The special occasion is very dear to everyone at St Peter & St James as it is a time when local people of all faiths come together to remember, reflect and celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us.
The ‘Lights of Love’ event, at Martlets Hall from 4:30pm, follows a simple structure with inspiring readings, reflections, music and time for quiet contemplation.
The community gathering – where people are united by their shared experience of missing someone dear – brings great comfort and support, through lighting a candle and taking time to reflect in the company of others.
All are welcome to join in after the service for mince pies and refreshments, to meet, mingle and share memories. The collected names of loved ones will be read during each service and dedications will also be displayed on remembrance boards.
Carol Hughes, community fundraiser at St Peter & St James Hospice, said: “The service is so special. Coming together with other people to remember a loved one brings the heart out in the community in an uplifting way.”
To reserve a space, email Carol.Hughes@stpeter-stjames.org.uk or call 01444 470811 by November 20.
