A FORMER care home for older people is to be knocked down and replaced with a housing development.
Wealden District Council has given the go-ahead for the changes to 32 Gilda Crescent in Polegate.
Social housing for people with learning disabilities will be set up at the site.
Saxon Weald has been given permission to knock down the existing care house/resource centre.
A development will be erected in its place involving 10 one-bedroom flats, two three-bedroom houses and three two-bedroom houses.
