It has been a nail biting wait but students across East Sussex have at last opened up their A Level results.

In Uckfield students gathered at Uckfield Community Technology College to find out how they did in this year’s national examinations.

The college said it was delighted to announce an excellent set of A Level results.

It said 70 per cent of A2 grades were awarded at grades A* to C, with 22.3 per cent being A-A*.

Principal Hugh Hennebry said: “Congratulations to all our students getting their A-Level results today. We are delighted that the dedication, hard work and commitment of staff and student had led to great individual success and we wish all our former students all the very best for the next stage in their lives.”

Students Olivia Nunnerley-Hood, Lucy Phillips and Harriet Pavey were three of the highest performing students. They are now off to study English at Royal Holloway College, Kings London and to UEA to study Philosophy and Politics.

Student Stefan Godfrey achieved A*A*A* BB and Rob Williams achieved A*AAB. Stefan is off to Bath university to study Maths.

The school said it wished to extend its heartfelt congratulations to all of its students on their tremendous achievements.
