Tickets for a spontaneous seafront show this week by star comedian Eddie Izzard have gone on sale.
A one-off performance of the A-lister’s internationally acclaimed Force Majeure show will start at 8.45pm on Thursday (August 7), on the south terrace of the De La Warr Pavilion (DLWP) in neighbouring Bexhill.
The audience, seated on the terrace and balcony, will have the perfect view of Eddie performing against a Bexhill sunset over the sea.
Eddie has toured Force Majeure across the world in three different languages, and now brings it to the town he grew up in.
DLWP spokeswoman Sally Ann Lycett said the pavilion was ‘thrilled to welcome back our patron Eddie Izzard’.
Eddie, 52, who spent some of his childhood growing up in Bexhill, visited the town in December last year to officially open the Izzard Theatre at Bexhill 6th Form College.
The opening featured a performance by the comedian, as well as from West End stars Carl Sanderson, Christopher Howell, Sarah Harlington and former West End performers Natalie Roberts and Adam Hepkin.
Doors for Thursday’s performance will open at 6.30pm, and the show is expected to finish around 11pm.
Comedy-lovers are invited to bring a blanket and cushion, as well as warm and waterproof clothing. Early birds on the £20 seats might grab one of a few deckchairs available - otherwise bring your own blankets and cushions.
Tickets (£30/£20/ or £10 for under-18s), which went on sale yesterday (Thursday) are sure to sell out fast.
