Worthing Churches Homeless Projects held their charity abseil in Peacehaven on Saturday, July 4, which turned out to be a great day to hold the event with sunny and hot weather.

Thirty participants signed up to abseil 100ft down Peacehaven Cliffs in aid of WCHP and helped to make the day a huge success, raising an estimated £3,500.

Amongst the abseilers were two of our staff members, two clients and one of our trustees.

Everyone was in high spirits which was mainly down to the fantastic Hatt Adventures abseil team who coached and safely lowered the abseilers down the cliff. Two staff members were also on hand to help harness up everyone and give moral support.

Three team members were posted at the bottom of the cliff to give out water and much needed snacks on completion of the abseil and everyone had a photo taken with their medal before taking the long walk back up the steps to receive their certificate and a well deserved rest.
