Ambition achieved - and he even beat Robbie

Uckfield FM sports reporter Dave Eggleston was thrilled to achieve his ambition and finish the Great North Run in under two hours.

Dave clocked in at the finish in one hour, 55 minutes. “I beat Robbie Savage by six minutes” he added.

“Despite the wind and the rain, it was a brilliant experience – in fact apart from a couple of stretches on the course luckily the wind was behind us for a good deal of the way !

“Although as you will know the overriding aim was to raise as much as I can for the Alzheimer’s Society, I was really chuffed to finish under two hours . I’m very touched that so many people supported me and have helped me raise nearly £600 in total for the charity, with hopefully some more to come.”
