Police in Eastbourne are trying to identify the owner of two white dogs which bit another dog owner walking near Willingdon golf course in September.

The incident, around 10.30am on September 25, wasn’t immediately reported to the police, but the man suffered two fairly deep bites to his stomach as he picked up his dog which the other dogs were trying to get at.

He called for the man to control his dogs, described as small to medium sized, possibly wire haired terriers or bichon frise type, but the dogs leapt up and bit him. The man shouted at his dogs, calling one of them ‘Miche’ and then apologised to the victim before rapidly walking off into nearby woods.

He was described as white, 6’ 2” - 6’ 4”, of medium build with grey hair and a grey beard. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone who recognises the man, his dogs or who may have seen them walking in that area is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 47140136872.
