BUSINESSES are being encouraged to join in the Peacehaven’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations by donating a raffle prize.

The Town Council is calling on companies to help with the free raffle to take place during the council’s event on Sunday June 3.

Piddinghoe Sports Park will be the venue for a fun afternoon, with music, dancing and entertainment.

The council has some tables and chairs to provide, but they may well run out if they are popular so book up early.

One of the attractions will be a free raffle and the council hopes to have 60 prizes.

Cllr Robbie Robertson said: “The idea is that we have one prize for every year that Her Majesty was on the throne.

“We hope that there will be a variety of prizes to encourage the residents to attend the event and join in the fun.”

The committee has been doing its best to ensure that the day will be a fun one, with local groups performing songs, a children’s disco and a Zumba demonstration, to name a few of the attractions.

Cllr Robertson added: “We need the weather but hopefully the residents will support us and enjoy the event. There will be a fancy dress competition and a best laid out table competition as well as the opportunity to toast Her Majesty.” To book a table call Steve Keogh at the Town Council office on 01273 575122.
