Appeal for a chorus
BURGESS Hill Musical Society are still looking for chorus members, especially men, to appear in their production of Mack and Mabel at the Martlets Hall Burgess Hill in June.
All but one of the principal roles have been cast. Still without a player is the role of Fatty Arbuckle, a well-known comedian of the time.
Spokeswoman Karen Durrell said: "The show is the story of Mack Sennet (played by Bill Kirwan), a silent movie director and his involvement both professionally and romantically with one of the biggest stars of his movies Mabel Normand (Ruth Hallam).
"The show includes bathing beauties and the Key Stone Cops as well one foot-tapping tune after another and the beautiful ballad I Won't Send Roses. Perhaps best known for Torvill and Dean winning gold in 1982 whilst ice-skating to the overture from the original cast album, the show itself achieved multiple Tony Award nominations and has become popular the world over.
"We rehearse in Burgess Hill on a Wednesday and Thursday and would love to welcome new members into our cast."
