Two men are among three to have been arrested following a spate of burglaries in the Uckfield area.
Two men have been charged. One has been charged with nine burglaries and remanded in custody while he awaits trial and another was arrested and charged with six burglaries.
He is on conditional bail while he awaits trial for these offences, and one of the conditions is not to come into Uckfield or the surrounding area.
A 22-year-old man from Hurstpierpoint has also been arrested for burglary and is on bail until May 14.
Sergeant Amy Mason of the Uckfield Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “These arrests and charges are an excellent result.
“Officers from across various departments have been working together to bring this series to a quick resolution.
“During the investigations police knocked on several hundred doors in a bid to find witnesses and give crime prevention advice and home security. Residents will be pleased to know that the area has seen an instant decline in burglary.
“Police would like to take this opportunity to urge residents to report any activity, which they deem to be suspicious, especially so when it comes to vehicles or people acting suspiciously around residential properties.”
