MP visits flood defences
CONSTRUCTION of a £1.5 million flood wall in Lewes is now well under way.
On Friday (June 26) Norman Baker MP took a tour of the beginnings of the latest Cliffe flood defences which are expected to be completed by winter 2009.
Norman Baker MP said: "I'm very pleased that progress on flood defences is finally being made for those areas not covered by the first Malling scheme.
"I also welcome the grant given to Lewes District Council by the government – the second highest in the country."
