Award-winning local author Giles Paley-Phillips will perform the grand opening of the Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair at the Crypt Gallery in Seaford on Saturday, November 22.
He will be at the Church Street venue at 10.30am to launch the event, which continues daily until November 30.
Once again this year, the event showcases new artists whose work is also highly appealing.
Organisers have established a reputation for innovative, quality goods which are reasonably priced.
There will be contemporary designs, paintings, prints and cards by well-known Sussex artists, acrylic designs on wood and canvas, as well as framed prints of local scenes and advent calendars. Photography and pastel art offers an alternative choice.
There will be a unique range of textiles including hand printed silk gifts such as lampshades, boxes and bangles.
Also hand-dyed silk and woven scarves.
Other textile artists will provide handbags with beading and stitching, felted jewellery, Shambala bracelets, knitted bags, gloves and socks, as well as hand-painted jute bags and dressing-up items for children.
This year the show has five jewellers all with very different styles and using a range of materials.
Four local paper crafters have worked all year to showcase their mixed media jewellery, notebooks and other paper-based gifts. There will be ceramics, hand-thrown and painted pottery for home and garden as well as hand-crafted wooden items.
