September is World Alzheimer’s Month and to celebrate in Eastbourne the local dementia group Memory Lane will be holding their first fund and awareness raising event.

The Walk for Dementia is on Saturday September 27 from 10.45am-12.45pm and will start at the Wish Tower Slope, walk to the Waterworks and then return to the Wish Tower slope. All monies raised will help support Memory Lane and in particular the group it runs called the Meet and Greet Club.

The club runs once a month and is held on the third Saturday of the month at Community Wise, Ocklynge Road.

Carol McHale from the group said, “It is a place where people with dementia can come together with their families, friends and carers. There is a different activity each month. Recently we have had Easter hat making, singing, making a hanging basket, bingo, sand pictures, and have a French Morning booked for the next group meeting on September 20 at 10.30am.”
