IT was an interesting morning for anyone interested in the cars of yesteryear.
First thing, it was off in the Sprite to Pelham House in Lewes to see a group of seven German owned 1930s Austin Sevens.
They were parked at the hotel following their participation in the 90th Anniversary London to Brighton Run.
Sadly, a superb scarlet “boat tail” had to leave early, so is missing from the group shot.
Then it was off to Sussex Sports Cars for a trip through Lewes with Gerry Wadman and Duncan Pittfield in a magnificent 1930s Lagonda open top, a stylish embodiment of “Rolling Thunder”.
My wife said that we looked like Ratty, Mole and Toad and I suppose we must have put a bit of Wind through a few people’s Willows.
All this, before midday – some morning!
Rachel and I have just been taken out for an early morning (freezing) blast in “ Black Bess” (Tuesday April 10) –1935 Lagonda 6 cylinder, 3 litre, M45 Tourer - which is now on its merry way to Germany.
