Best small shops rise to challenge in Peacehaven

Peacehaven MP Simon Kirby has called on the town’s best small shops to enter a national competition

Simon Kirby is calling for small shops in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven to enter the All Party Parliamentary Small Shop Group’s ‘Best Small Shops Competition’.

Small shops can submit their application to the competition via www.bestsmallshops.uk setting out in no more than 500 words why they are the best small shops.

Pitches should include: innovation in your business, community engagement and entrepreneurial activity.

All shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Parliamentary Reception where the winner will be announced on February 25.

Mr Kirby said the competition is a great chance for small shops in the town to get recognition for the ‘brilliant work’ that they do supporting the community and creating jobs.

He said he wanted to encourage as many people as possible to enter the competition.

He said: “We are fortunate here in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven to have many wonderful small shops.

“And this is a great opportunity for these shops in our area to get recognition for the brilliant work they do supporting the community and creating jobs.

“I would be delighted to see a shop from Brighton or Peacehaven recognised by being selected for this competition, and I would encourage as many as possible to get involved and enter.”
