Blues fest raises cash for local hospice

This year’s Bare-Faced Blues Festival has raised more than £750 for St Michael’s Hospice.

The event was organised by Barry Taylor with events held on September 7 and 14 at the Gecko Bar and Bistro in St Leonards.

The extravaganza of local musicians included Buick 6, Jem Turpin Duo, Pete Prescott & Highway, Goo-Goos/Nelson King, Tea Chest Blues, Joe Rytlewski Band, King Size Slim, Peter O’Donnell and Friends and Mick Bolton.

Amanda Hildreth, hospice community fundraiser, said: “Thank you to our wonderful hospice supporter Barry Taylor who superbly organised the whole event. Many thanks also go to David Williams for hosting the event at Gecko Bar and Bistro and to all the artists who so very kindly performed free of charge to support the hospice.”
